Dance is an important part of our school and there are several different dance groups that students are able to participate in. The PacFest (Polynesian group), Greek dance group and the Bring It On dance group are three different dance opportunities for students to be involved in.
Students in this dance group perform at primary schools during Education Week as well as official school events such as the annual Presentation Evening. The students are under the guidance of Ms Anna Kalitsis and Ms Maria Papadopoulos and practice on Tuesday afternoons.
Our students have a long tradition of performing at a number of Polynesian festivals with great success. These students like our other dance groups give up their time to practice and perform with pride in not only representing our school but also to promote Polynesian culture.
There are several performances that students prepare for each year, these include the Immersion Day held at our school every year, local community events as well as the PacFest and Pacifica events held every year at Liverpool.
The PacFest event is a highly impactful youth initiative, which has been highly successful at increasing the levels of social inclusion, social cohesion and achievement of Pacific, Maori and Aboriginal high school students in Sydney.
The Sydney Pacifica is Australia's largest multicultural festival involving high schools throughout Sydney that have Pacific, New Zealand Maori and Aboriginal students. It aims to reconnect their students to their cultural heritage and learn the importance of traditions, customs and values.
Bring It On is a high energy dance event primarily hip-hop focused. It features a diverse range of secondary schools, bringing to the stage 5 minutes of entertaining dance. It is an event that encourages participation across all spheres of life and showcases creativity and immense talent.
