National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing support for Australians with disability, their families and carers. This is being rolled-out in our local area from July 2017.
The NDIS will provide about 460,000 Australians under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life.
We encourage families who are affected by this change to become better informed about the NDIS registration and planning process by attending NDIS information sessions. These information sessions are held regularly in your local area and are frequently advertised in the community. Other recommended sources of information on the NDIS include the following websites.
