Sports carnivals

Sport is an important part of the school's curriculum with many opportunities for students to be involved at all different levels.

Sporting carnivals

There are three annual whole school sporting carnivals held every year at Kingsgrove North High School.

  • Swimming carnival
  • Cross country carnival
  • Athletics carnival

Swimming carnival

There is something special about these whole school events with a wonderful school spirit displayed by both staff and students. The swimming carnival is usually held in February at either the newly built Bexley Aquatic Centre or Roselands Pool.

Students are allocated a house group and participate in various events to gain points for their house. There are two sports captains as part of the student leadership team that help coordinate all carnivals.

Cross country

Another whole school event held at Gannons Park at Peakhurst. Students are placed in their respected age groups and participate in a set course. This event also involves a series of novelty events that add to the atmosphere of the day. Students are chosen on their times to represent the school at both zone and regional competitions.

Athletics carnival

One of the highlights of the school sporting calendar. This is a day full of fun for students as well as the opportunity to compete at the highest level in a variety of athletic events for students in all age groups. The carnival is held at the athletic field at Canterbury and also involves a barbeque and food stall that has a vast variety of foods for both staff and students. Students are chosen to represent the school at zone and regional events.
